Yesterday, we treated our guests to a truly unforgettable experience in Tuscany. We whisked them away from the crowded tourist spots to a hidden gem – a tiny, 1000-year-old village nestled in the mountains of northern Tuscany.
You have to see it to believe it, honestly. Walking here felt like stepping into a fairytale, with peaceful tranquility, breathtaking views, and centuries-old stone houses.
But the real magic happened at a local family's home: Monica, our amazing host, welcomed us with open arms and delicious treats – fried sage leaves (fresh from her garden!), creamy asparagus pate, tuna antipasti, home-made bread, pasta with prawns and tomatoes fresh from her garden, and tiramisu with strawberries. Luisa, a brilliant sommelier, paired the meal with incredible local wines. It was a true feast, and entirely made with fresh and local produce.
This is the magic of our cooking classes and wine tastings – we have no interest in mass-produced activities or touristy venues. For us, it's all about connecting travelers with local families and creating authentic experiences that are as memorable as they are special. To cite one of my clients, "I can't believe we got to do this, it was so special". I agree, it really was a special day. If you're interested in discovering such hidden corners in Tuscany, send me an email (ariela@hamagaf.com). We'd love to set up an equally special cooking class / tasting activity / wine experience for your group, too :)
