Making pesto with Graziella

Today, I had the pleasure of catching up with my friend Graziella and her husband, Gianni. They treated me to a wonderful dinner featuring homemade pesto, prepared the traditional way in a marble mortar and pestle – the aroma and flavors were incredible! Graziella's culinary talent is truly something special. Maybe one day I can convince her to share her magic with a cooking class for my clients... wouldn't that be fantastic?

The table is set with everything that we need to make pesto (the RIGHT way...)

Graziella showing off her creamy pesto. You'll have to trust me when I say that the aroma was incredible

In the meantime, Gianni was making testaroli -- a typical crepe like dish from Liguria

Just a "tiny" aperitivo of cheese and charcuterie. The cheese, BTW, came from one of my favorite goat farms. It's a good thing that I have so many shepherd friends...
