It is unlikely that you will be able to do most of the tips, but it does help you narrow things down between several choices. Intelligent read and thoughtful tips. "I've been to Italy many times and to Tuscany more than other places and loved this book. The food parts for Florence, in particular, are its strongest selling point. We didn't find the shopping to be as on point as the food recommendations, and some of the shopping places just seemed overpriced for no apparent reason other than trying to separate tourists from their money, so we focused on eating instead -- which is really the best reason to go to Italy anyway! Buy the book and have a great time! Prego!"

I have read several travel guides in preparation for my trip. Most are rather utilitarian. This book was head and shoulders above the rest. The author provides opinions on everything from roof top cafes, world renown architecture,antiques shopping,vineyards and more in an in depth fashion unlike the "standard bearer " in this category.
